The Consumer Technology Association is leveraging the power of beacons at the annual CES event taking place in Las Vegas this week. Per their blog:
But there is one technology we hope you use but don’t actually see, beacons. For the uninitiated, beacons are small, low energy, Bluetooth sensors which transmit signals and typically interact with a mobile app. We’ve integrated beacons into the CES 2016 App to help you get the most out of your show experience. We’ll be using beacons to alert the app to display messages and content at specific locations and guide you like GPS around the show floor.
Has anyone experienced a proximity message via the CES App this week? If so, we’d love to hear your comments! Sound off below.
